Are you one of those people who hits the snooze button over and over again in the morning? If so, then you should make it a goal to eliminate that bad habit in 2017. The reason why is simple.
Hitting the snooze button over and over again can actually lead to you being more tired. It literally throws off your internal clock. As a result, your body might not know when to wake up, and it also might not know when it's time to go to bed, which can lead to you tossing and turning throughout the night.
That is why you should go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning.
On top of throwing off your internal clock and feeling tired and groggy as a result of hitting the snooze button over and over again, hitting the snooze button can also lead to you not waking up when you need to get up. That could lead to a downfall of bad things, such as you being late to work, not going to the gym in the morning (this is especially bad if the morning is the only time you can make it to the gym), skipping out on breakfast and the list goes on and on. At that point, you have to ask yourself if hitting the snooze button was worth it.
Get control of your life by going to sleep at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning (yes, even on the weekends, although sleeping in from time to time is not a bad thing). In hopes of making that happen, come up with a bedtime ritual, a ritual that you, of course, follow every single night.
If you are just not a morning person and can't help the fact that you love hitting the snooze button over and over again, then you need to find a fix. One solution is not sleeping next to your alarm clock so you are actually forced to get out of bed to turn it off. You could also sleep with the blinds open so the sun naturally wakes you up. You could even set your alarm clock for the last possible moment, meaning if you don't wake up/hit the snooze button, you will be late for work (or whatever it might be).
Sleep is essential to success. Being tired can lead to you not doing your best work, getting behind on work or not doing your work at all. While that might be an extreme scenario, you have to get the proper amount of sleep. That should be one of your daily goals.
Get into the habit of waking up the moment your alarm clock goes off in 2017. That habit alone could lead to you achieving some of your other goals. Now is the time to finally say goodbye to the snooze button.
